How our fees work

We define the scope and fee structure before paid work begins. The appropriate model depends on the complexity, urgency and nature of the matter.

Hourly fee

From EUR 155 + VAT (21%)

Suitable for advice, document review, ongoing representation and matters where the full scope cannot be determined at the outset.

  • Time is recorded in 15-minute increments
  • Regular updates on time spent are provided on request
  • An estimate of likely hours can be provided for discrete tasks

Fixed fee

Agreed per project

Available for clearly defined, bounded work — such as drafting a straightforward will or reviewing a single document.

  • Scope must be clearly defined before a fixed fee can be agreed
  • Additional work outside the agreed scope is charged separately
  • Fixed fees are not always available for complex or uncertain matters

Staged budget

Phased by stage

For complex or multi-stage matters where the full scope cannot be determined at the outset, the matter can be divided into stages with a budget agreed for each stage.

  • Budgets are reviewed at the start of each new stage
  • You are not committed to all stages at the outset
  • This model is common in contentious matters

Outcome-related component

Selected matters only

In certain contentious matters an outcome-related component may be possible, subject to the applicable professional rules and to individual agreement.

  • Not universally available — assessed per matter
  • Subject to Czech Bar Association professional rules
  • Cannot be the sole basis of a fee in most matters

VAT and additional costs

All fees are quoted exclusive of Czech VAT at the applicable rate (currently 21%), which is added to invoices for work subject to VAT.

Disbursements — such as court fees, notarial charges, translation costs and official fees — are charged at cost and agreed in advance where possible.

We provide a written proposal covering the fee structure, scope and expected disbursements before any paid work begins.
